These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of TiketiGala's bus agent mobile app, web administration dashboard, and related backend services (together, the "Service"), provided by TiketiGala ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service is
TiketiGala is a technology platform that bus companies ("Operators") use to manage routes, schedules, buses, staff accounts, and to sell and issue passenger tickets — through agent-operated point-of-sale, an admin dashboard, and (where enabled by an Operator) direct online booking. TiketiGala is not itself a bus company or a carrier: each Operator is solely responsible for the transportation service it provides, including schedule accuracy, vehicle safety, and compliance with transport regulations.
2. Accounts
- Agent and admin accounts are created by an Operator's administrator. When an account is created, login credentials (username and a temporary password) are sent by SMS to the phone number on file.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify your Operator administrator immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- An Operator administrator may suspend or remove an account, or restrict which routes an agent may book, at their discretion.
3. Bookings, fares & payment
- Fares, routes, schedules, and seat availability are set and managed by each Operator; TiketiGala only provides the platform used to configure and sell against them.
- Payment for a ticket is collected by the Operator or its agent, using whichever payment methods that Operator accepts. TiketiGala is not a payment processor and does not hold passenger funds.
- Agents may operate against a company-provided "float" (a pre-funded internal balance) as an accounting mechanism between the agent and the Operator — this is an internal bookkeeping tool, not a consumer payment service.
- A ticket is confirmed once issued and a reference/QR code is generated; it is the passenger's responsibility to keep their ticket reference for boarding and verification.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Unless an Operator sets a different policy, cancellations follow this default rule:
| When cancelled | Refund |
|---|---|
| 24 hours or more before scheduled departure | Full refund of the fare |
| Less than 24 hours before scheduled departure | 50% of the fare refunded; the remainder is retained as a cancellation fee |
| On or after scheduled departure, or trip already completed | No refund |
Only agents/admins with cancellation permission granted by their Operator can cancel a ticket. Refunds, where applicable, are credited back through the same internal mechanism the sale was made against (e.g. an agent's float) and any onward refund to the passenger is handled by the Operator or agent directly.
5. SMS & communications
By providing a phone number for a booking or an account, you consent to receiving SMS messages related to that booking or account (e.g. ticket confirmations, account credentials). Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to create fraudulent bookings, falsify passenger details, or circumvent an Operator's fare or seating rules
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account, Operator's data, or the Service's systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Tanzanian transport, tax, or consumer-protection law
7. Operator responsibilities
Each Operator is responsible for the accuracy of the routes, fares, schedules, and bus details it publishes through the Service, for actually operating the trips it sells tickets for, and for complying with applicable transport regulations, including — where enrolled — Tanzania's LATRA Universal Ticketing System requirements.
8. Intellectual property
The TiketiGala name, logo, and the Service's software are the property of TiketiGala and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use TiketiGala's branding except as necessary to use the Service as intended.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, TiketiGala is not liable for delays, cancellations, or other failures of a bus trip itself — those are the Operator's responsibility — nor for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any account or Operator that violates these Terms or misuses the Service. An Operator may stop using the Service at any time by contacting us.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
